The New USPS Rules and Rates Are Here for Grand Rapids and Michigan
A few weeks ago I wrote that the USPS, United State Postal Service, was changing things up with price increases and delivery times adjusting for all of our mail and packages.
Guess what? They are here, just about. April 1st, it all changes.
👇BELOW: WHAT DOESN'T EXIST ANYMORE FROM WHEN YOU WERE BORN!👇
According to AARP, here is actually what we in Michigan and Grand Rapids can expect.
- Priority Mail prices will go up by 3.2 percent. With this option, packages typically arrive in one to three business days.
- Priority Mail Express prices will also increase by 3.2 percent. This speedier shipping service usually provides delivery in one to two days, with an overnight guarantee to some destinations.
- USPS Ground Advantage prices will rise by 3.9 percent. This option can be less expensive, yet delivery can take two to five business days.
- Parcel Select prices will jump by 9.2 percent. Mainly used by businesses for bulk shipments, the speed of delivery varies by shipping zones but is typically two to eight days.
That's not quite all because the Postal Service may raise the price of the Forever Stamp again. AARP says it will stay the same for the first half of this year, but it may raise the price in July. Time to stock up, right?
WILL I STILL GET MAIL ON TIME?
Well, maybe, maybe not. AARP says that the USPS figures that 87 percent of first-class two-day mail will arrive on time, and hopefully 80 percent of the three-to-five-day will.
I'm wondering with all the postal cuts coming, how in the world will they be able to live up to these goals?
