Not only is it new but it's also supposed to have the largest outdoor screen.

WXYZ Detroit reports that Starlite will open in SE Michigan, at the Mall of Monroe, by spring next year.

On top of being the largest outdoor movie screen in the state, the drive-in will be Michigan's first digitally-projected outdoor experience with laser projection technology.

I'm not really sure what all of those words mean but I'm sure it will be super cool when all is said and done LOL.

Plans for the new drive-in will move forward once approved by the township. They're hoping to break ground before winter. They're dubbing it as a "premium drive-in experience" which will also include a full-service concession stand, handicap accessibility and modern indoor restrooms.

Phoenix Theatres, which is behind this project, is known for their heated reclining seats.

Currently, there are eight drive-in theaters in Michigan, including the Getty Drive-In in Muskegon.
