National Weather Service Confirms EF-0 Tornado South of Alto

The National Weather Service in Grand Rapids has confirmed there was an EF-0 tornado south of Alto at 1:15AM on Tuesday, July 14. The tornado left a path nearly one mile long.

The tornado had estimated winds of 75 - 85 mph. It started southwest of the intersection of 84th Street and Morse Lake Road. The tornado traveled northwest for 0.8 miles and finished on the northwest side of 84th Street and Morse Lake Road.

Numerous trees and limbs were down after the storm which caused thousands to lose power.

No tornado warning was issued.
