What wacky weather we're having.  It sure got warm, didn't it.  50+ degrees yesterday and so much of our snow melted away.

But, don't despair snow fans, it will be back later today and tonight. And, that is good news for Muskegon's Snowfest.  It officially kicked off yesterday and it's pretty tough to celebrate Snow when there isn't much.

There is so much to do, that snow is only a small part of the festival.  This is the 29th year of the event and with tons of food, activities and events, it is one of the more popular festivals on the lakeshore.

The 5 day festival offers something for people of all ages.

Some of the favorites include the "Battle of the Bowls" where you can enjoy a taste of Muskegon's best restaurants, "Kidsfest" which offers fun and crafts for minors, and for those over the age of 21, a cocktail event celebrating young professionals in the community and the return of SnowFest Beer, which is a specialty beer brewed just for this event by one of Michigan's newest breweries.

Also back by popular demand is the traditional snow volleyball tournament.

The festival is centered on Westeren avenue and runs through this Sunday, February 3rd.

Local bands Yard Sale Underwear and Whoopee Kat will perform again this year.
