Milan’s Miracle Run Brings Hope For “Better Outcome” For Pediatric Cancer Patients

I didn't know Milan Capobianco. She was the precious daughter of Philip and Sharyn Capobianco and little sister to Delano. She was just 8 years old when she died in February, 2009 of an inoperable brain tumor. I had the chance to photograph some of the folks who loved her Sunday at Milan's Miracle Run/Walk at Millennium Park. It was a beautiful day for an event and over 500 walkers and runners turned out to raise funds to fight pediatric cancer.

Milan's mom, Sharyn, remarked she hoped the funds raised Sunday would help support pediatric cancer research and give parents or other family members the tools needed to make an informed decision about the future care of their child.

" Our hope is that others will have a better outcome," Sharyn Capobianco said.
