Millions of Michigan Workers Affected By New Laws
New laws are passing through Lansing all the time, many of which go un-noticed. The Michigan legislature votes on this and that, and if the bills pass they move on the the governor for her signature, thus becoming a new law of the land of Michigan.
Recently there were some new labor laws signed by Governor Whitmer that may have flown over our heads, but will certainly impact millions of Michigan workers.
The Michigan.gov/Whitmer website reported in March that the governor signed:
"‘Restoring Workers’ Rights’ bill package restoring and protecting workers’ rights in Michigan. House Bills 4004 and 4007 and Senate Bill 34 strengthen our labor laws to protect workers’ safety, keep government from getting in the way of negotiations between businesses and workers, and empower workers to advocate for better working conditions and wages."
The object of these bills is to assure better health and safety for workers, and give health care workers more protection and support. If there are food safety problems, food workers will have the right to call attention to the issue.
Certainly, Michigan has needed to catch up to other parts of the county, having lost thousands of jobs and workers over the past years. Smoothing out the business climate and making Michigan more attractive for, not only workers, but for companies to operate a business will add hope to not only retain jobs, but to grow opportunities for new business.

The Michigan.gov/Whitmer website went on to say the Michigan Economic Development Corporation reported this:
"According to an MEDC survey, nearly two-thirds of Michigan businesses described the state as having a positive business climate and would promote Michigan as a place to start a business."
With a talented and hard working worker base in Michigan, how can we fail.
