Michigan Apple Fest in Sparta Today

It's Michigan Apple Fest in Sparta today. With a run, scarecrow building, harvest market, kids games and bounce houses, along with entertainment including the the Knotty Bits Circus Sideshow, and all things apple, it's going to be a great day.

For Apple Pie lovers, the Grand Traverse Pie Company Food Truck, Genevieve, will be there. Guests can not only purchase a variety of homemade GT Pie favorites including sandwiches, salads, white cheddar Mac and Cheese, and chicken pot pie, but also compete in a Michigan Apple Pie Baking Competition. The first Five Michigan Apple Pies presented to the panel of judges no later than 12:30 p.m. at the Sparta Chamber of Commerce will compete for three Meijer Gift Cards: First Place $100; Second Place $75; and Third Place will take home a $50 Meijer gift card.

The Michigan Apple Festival is in downtown Sparta. Johnny Appleseed will be there, too, with hands on activities promoting healthy eating, packing production tours and partnerships with farm markets throughout West Michigan will highlight the Festival.

Tickets are only $10 and can be purchased at the Apple Fest, with activities beginning at 9 a.m. and ending around 6 p.m.
