This is an incredible moment in hockey, not always seen. Actually, probably never seen before. It happened in a Major Junior Hockey league game.

Now we all know Junior Hockey can be wild. If you're a parent and your kids are in hockey, you're aware of some of the craziness that can go on. But, as they continue up, and hopefully make it to a Major Junior league team, you don't expect to see this.

It was a Friday night QMJHL, Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, game between the Baie-Comeau Drakkar and Charlottetown Islanders. It ended rather prematurely after an issue with the ice. The damage wasn’t actually that serious, until the officials stepped in to deal with it. Watch.

Within the hour, the game was called, and the QMJHL gave the win to the Islanders, who were leading, 5-2. The club’s recap attributed the early finish to “a problem with the ice,” which is more diplomatic than “some doofus ruined everything.”
