Mad Men Cocktail pARTy in Grand Rapids on June 18

The Mad Men Cocktail pARTy is bringing vintage fashion, music, dancing and cocktails inspired by the popular TV series Mad Men to The Harris Building in Grand Rapids on June 18.

Planned festivities include vintage fashions, cocktails and live period jazz by the JMM Trio. The event is being hosted by Square Peg Events in partnership with The Harris Building.

The party starts at 8PM on Saturday, June 18, at The Harris Building at 111 S. Division Ave.

“This event is about elegance and sophistication,” said Cynthia Hagedorn, executive director of Square Peg Events.

For the event, The Harris Building is being transformed into a period setting by John Knox, owner of Retro Knox. “We are filling the place with mid-century furniture, paintings, rugs, accessories, you name it. We’ll have eight or nine vignettes — like little living-room sets — from the walls to the floor, to give the space that Mad Men-era style and feeling. It was a really fun, colorful era. When they had fun, they had fun in a crazy stylish way. That’s what we’re going to do,” he said.

Doors at The Harris Building will open at 8PM for cocktails. The JMM Trio will play at 9PM. General Admission tickets are $30 per person and include live music and cash bar. VIP tickets are $60 per person and include a private area with select bar, simple appetizers and priority seating in front of the band. 21 and older only.
