The Detroit Lions will break out a new set of all grey uniforms for Saturday's home game with the Chicago Bears.

Hey, at this point anything is worth a try, right?

The Detroit Lions announced this week that they will wear their all grey 'color rush' uniforms this week for their rare Saturday home game at Ford Field against the Chicago Bears.

This will mark the first time ever the team has departed from wearing either a blue or white jersey for a game. Although, the team actually wore red and white for a while in the late forties. Wait, what?

Yeah, in 1948 and 1949 the Lions wore red at the request of new head coach Bo McMillan, who came to the team from Indiana University and preferred those colors. They stunk (the team, not the the jerseys), so they switched back in 1950 to the traditional Honolulu Blue and Silver.

Here's a glimpse of the grey uniforms the team will wear this weekend. If they lose, they will burn them. I promise.
