Lavell Crawford has canceled his Gilda's LaughFest appearance for Wednesday night because of a movie he's currently filming, festival officials announced this morning.

The cancellation of his appearance at Fountain Street Church is because of a change in the production schedule for the film "Meet the Blacks."

"It is with my sincerest apologies that I have to cancel my show Wednesday in Grand Rapids for LaughFest,” Crawford said in a statement. “Due to unforeseen weather delays, my filming schedule for the movie I'm working on has been changed and I am needed on set that day.

"I have personal ties to Grand Rapids as well as many fans there, and was looking forward to the show and being a part of the festival. I'm so sorry to let down the festival and my fans, and hope that I can come to LaughFest for shows in the future."

Individuals who purchased tickets for Crawford's performance can get a full refund by returning the tickets to where they purchased them.

"Meet the Blacks" also co-stars Mike Epps, Lil Duval, Gary Owen, Bresha Webb and Michael Blackson; is directed by Deon Taylor; and is expected to be released later this year, Sacramento's KTXL-TV reported.

Other LaughFest events on Wednesday night include Best of the Midwest, up-and-coming comedians vying for the title of 2015 Gilda’s LaughFest Best of the Midwest Comedian and a $2,500 cash prize at 7 p.m. EDT at The B.O.B., Third Floor, 20 Monroe Avenue NW in Grand Rapids; and Mix and Mingle, a fundraiser for Gilda’s Club Grand Rapids with dancing, socializing and signature drink specials from 9 p.m. to 2 p.m. EDT at Bar Divani, 15 Ionia Avenue SW in Grand Rapids.

Tickets are still available for LaughFest headliners Wanda Sykes, who performs at 8 p.m. EDT tonight at DeVos Performance Hall, 303 Monroe Avenue NW in Grand Rapids; and George Lopez, who performs at 8 p.m. EDT Sunday (March 15) at DeVos Performance Hall.
