Some students are getting ready to head back to school, while others are preparing to enjoy a long weekend of homework. Either way, the last week of the temporary "pop-up" children's museum in South Haven offers a good way to transition from summer to school, with plenty of fun opportunities for younger kids too.

This is the last week for Forever Curious Children’s Museum's limited-time “pop-up” location in South Haven. The museum opened on July 1 at 417 Phoenix St. Its last day of the season will be Friday, Sept. 3. Hours are 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The temporary location includes sand and water tables (leave the mess to someone else), a cardboard construction zone (because nothing says "end of summer in Michigan" quite like a construction zone) and other interactive, educational exhibits.

They also have family yoga (don't pull a muscle), art workshops, concerts, poetry readings and family karaoke. I'm hoping for some end-of-summer-angsty-kids karaoke options, but it might be best to keep it to "Row, Row, Row Your Boat"-like choices.

Admission is $5 for anyone 1-year-old or older.
