The deadline to register to vote is quickly approaching. Like, it's TODAY!

Today, Tuesday, October 9, is the last day people can register to vote in the November 6 election. Registering is a simple process, so if you haven't done it yet, don't worry.

Our news partner, WZZM TV13 reports that if you aren't registered, here is what you can do.

You can mail or hand-deliver your application to the city or county clerk. The second page of the registration application lists addresses for each county clerk in Michigan and select city clerks.

If your clerk isn't listed, you can find out where to go online.

For those without a printer, don't fret. You can pick up a copy of the voter registration application at:

Your local Secretary of State branch office
Your local county, city or township clerk's office
Offices of several state agencies, like the Department of Health and Human Services, the Department of Community Health and the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs
Military recruitment centers
As long as the application is postmarked no later than today, October 9, you'll be good to go for the November election.

If you've never voted in Michigan before and want to mail your application in, you'll have to meet an identification requirement. This can be:

A driver's license number or personal ID card number written on the application form
A photocopy of your license or ID card
A photocopy of your paycheck stub, utility bill, bank document or government document that lists your name an address
After registering, you'll receive a voter ID card in the mail that will tell you where to cast your ballot.

If you aren't sure:
If you've moved, or recently registered to vote and wanted to make sure you're all set for the election, you can check your registration status on the Michigan Secretary of State website.

All you have to do is input your name, birthday and zip code and the site will do the rest for you.

You can see what your ballot will look like on the Michigan Secretary of State's website. Fill in your name, birthday and zip code and you'll have the option to view a sample ballot based on your zip code.
