Here in Michigan we are very proud of our Lake Michigan. Thousands, millions even, flock to its beautiful beaches and shores to enjoy this fabulous natural resource that we are so blessed with.

However, since we are so used to this blessing of ours, it is always amazing to hear non-midwestern people exclaim at the expanse of the lake. You hear all the time they had no idea, or that it was like living on the shore of the ocean. They are always stunned at the beaches too.

So, it was with great pleasure that I found this reaction on Tik Tok from a Brit, a young man from Great Britain.

Pretty funny. But, a natural reaction from someone blown away by our greatest natural resource.

Lake Michigan is the second largest Great Lake by volume, after Lake Superior. It's third in size after Lake Superior and Huron.

Yes, our Great Lakes are a bit more than a pond. And here in Michigan, we are so fortunate to have an abundant source of fresh water while other parts of the country are in dire straits.

It's easy to take our Great Lakes for granted here. Let's appreciate what we have a little bit more!
