Job Fair For Live Music Support Staff In Grand Rapids Thursday
Have you ever wanted to work in the live events industry? Well on Thursday one of Grand Rapids' most popular venues will be holding a job fair as they gear up for concerts to return in full force, in less than a month.
Scott Hammontree, Talent Buyer & Partner at the Intersection, tells us the venue is looking to hire from 10-20 people. Most of the original staff will be returning, but Hammontree says some have moved onto other fields due to the pandemic. He also says that recently allotted PPP (Paycheck Protection Program) dollars were helpful in bringing back staff and making new hires.
The Intersection is looking for staffing in the following positions:
- Production
- Security
- Bartenders
- Barbacks
- Customer Service
For those interested in a position the Intersection is asking that you fill out an application online at their website, and then visit between 12-7p on June 3rd. The positions are all available at the Intersection complex in downtown Grand Rapids that includes the main room at the Intersection, Elevation at the Intersection, The Stache Lounge, and The Mint.
As vaccine availability has increased, and as the State of Michigan will be lifting nearly all pandemic restrictions on July 1st, many in the live event industry are finding themselves gearing up for a quickly approaching concert season that didn't even seem likely just a few months ago.
Currently, the venue is set to make its official return on July 10th with an EDM concert featuring Blunts & Blondes.
Other July events on the schedule include a Metallica tribute band on July 23rd, Greyson Chance on July 25th, and an offsite Country/Western show on July 14th. A complete listing of concerts can be found on their Event Page.
** Please note that all confirmed shows, rescheduled or otherwise, may be subject to change based on national and local economic climate and COVID-19 policies and recommendations.**
