Passing Paycor Stadium, where the Cincinnati Bengals play, or crossing the bridge into Kentucky over the Ohio River will certainly provide an experience and some good, or frustrating, memories.
The Legendary “Big Butter Jesus” in Ohio
But before you even get to Cincinnati, there is still fun to be had. Just 30 miles north of Cincinnati is where travelers once saw “Big Butter Jesus,” a concrete-covered foam statue rising out of a lake in front of a local church.

Comedian Heywood Banks even immortalized the statue located between Dayton and Cincinnati with a song that was immortalized on radio shows across the Midwest.
Unfortunately, the foam statue was struck by lightning, melted, and burned to the ground. Since then, the church has erected a new statue. It is much sturdier and is no longer crawling up from under the water. As a Christian, even I can admit the first one was just a little creepy.
