Michigan's favorite card game may be confusing to learn, but once you grasp it, playing is pure Michigan fun.

There are actually two contenders that could be Michigan's favorite card game,

  • Spades
  • Crazy Eights

Maybe even Poker? All three are fun games played in the Great Lakes State, just not the favorite card game.

According to BET MGM Michigan's favorite card game is Euchre. If you are not familiar, Euchre is a trick-taking card game with a trump, played by four players in teams of two. If you prefer to play cards alone, there is always solitaire.

One other state claims Euchre as its favorite game, and that is Indiana. As you can see below, Crazy Eights is the most popular game in the United States, followed by Cards Against Humanity, Five Card Draw, and Acey-Deucy.

If you are interested in learning Euchre, you are in luck - there is an app for that as well as YouTube tutorials (see below).

Once you master Michigan's favorite card game, teach your friends and enjoy a pure Michigan game night. Just add the following,

  • Better Made Potato Chips
  • Coney Dogs
  • Faygo or Vernors
  • Your favorite Michigan beer or wine

Now, that sounds like Michigan to me.

Learning something new is always challenging, but if you live in Michigan you have to learn. No, it is not a law that you must know how to play Euchre if you live in Michigan, but it should be.
