If you have cats, there are certain plants that you shouldn't bring into your home. If you do, make sure to keep them out of reach of your feline friend.

Some plants are absolutely beautiful but extremely toxic to cats, dogs, and even humans if ingested.

Some people, including myself, had to learn the dangers of houseplants the hard way. I had a beautiful Bengal cat named Lincoln who passed away after chewing and ingesting Pothos (Epipremnum aureum). At the time, I had no idea the plant was toxic and never even considered that his symptoms were related to his constant chewing of the plant.

Please note that the list below is not a complete list of toxic plants. Numerous other plants can also be toxic to cats as well. If you suspect your cat has ingested a toxic plant, make sure that you contact your veterinarian or an emergency animal clinic immediately. Don't wait to see what happens.

According to The Spruce, these nine plants are also not safe around babies, especially infants, and toddlers that like to put everything within hand's reach in their mouths.

Let's talk about why certain houseplants are a no-go for your cat's safety.
