Michigan certainly has its share of potholes.

Every day, drivers are swerving and slamming on the brakes to avoid some of the worst potholes we have seen in years.

My commute to the radio station is a daily obstacle course, with at least three potholes to navigate each way.

Chances are, you are dodging even more potholes. However, relief might be on the way. Not every pothole in the Great Lakes State will get fixed - let’s be honest, but you could earn $800 just for sharing your Michigan pothole story.

That’s right, the website Fix MI State is running a Pothole Payback Contest. You could score $800 simply by telling your worst pothole experience.

Every month, Michiganders are forced to pay the price for the state’s crumbling infrastructure. From blown tires to bent rims, the real cost of Michigan’s potholes adds up fast. Through Pothole Payback, the Fix MI State campaign is giving drivers a platform to speak out – and a chance to get compensated.

How do I enter the Michigan Pothole Payback Contest?

Entries can be submitted here. From now through June, Fix MI State will give up to $800 each month to five drivers who share the most memorable pothole stories from across Michigan.

Guidelines are as follows,

  • By entering, you allow the Michigan Infrastructure and Transportation Association to use the photos you submit on social media and in campaign material.
  • One submission allowed per driver, per month.
  • All fields and or questions on the entry form must be filled out.

Sounds like an easy way to grab a shot at $800. If you enter - and win, be sure to let me know.

May the best pothole stories win. Good luck.
