TikTok Star ‘Therapy Gecko’ Visits Michigan To Give Advice At Electric Forest
There are two places you're likely to see some really weird things almost guaranteed. One is at Electric Forest in Rothbury, Michigan.
This yearly EDM festival brings out some of the brightest, craziest and most fun-loving people in the country for a weekend full of dancing, friendship, and consumption of questionable substances. I went with my husband and had a blast:
The other place you'll find some strange things isn't a physical place, but rather an app on that phone in your hand: TikTok.
You've likely found Lyle also known as Therapy Gecko on your For You Page if you've scrolled the app for long enough. He started dressing up as a gecko during the pandemic in 2020 and giving unprofessional advice to anyone insane enough to seek it.

So when you combine these two things, you'll find one of the most chaotic people on the internet in one of the most chaotic spaces in real life.
Therapy Gecko showed up for Friday and Saturday of Electric Forest, and my husband and I happened to see him doing his thing multiple times on the festival grounds.
We first ran into him inside the forest, randomly set up and interviewing people which I assume will end up on his page later this summer But, festival goers also had their chance to see him take the Honeycomb stage, where he did his Tiktok bit to a large crowd for one of the first times ever.

It was hilarious, and I can't wait to see the videos when they do come out. And hey, knowing how some people are, he may have done some real good for people who needed it most. Only time (and a few social media videos) will tell.
