When I was in high school, a lot of my friends were trying to get the best possible test scores and get into college so they could earn a degree that would in theory lead to a high-paying job. For some that worked out, but for others all they got was a ton of student loan debt.
According to CNBC, finishing high school puts you on track to earn a median of $1.6 million over your lifetime. A bachelor’s degree holder earns a median of $2.8 million, which is 75% more than if they had only a high school diploma.
