On Wednesday, February 18, 2026, DeBoer posted on her Facebook page that she would be stepping away from FOX-17. She said that she's "moving toward a new 'What's Next'."

DeBoer said that while working a full-time schedule this winter, she realized that it was time for her to step away. During that time, she "navigated the deep personal loss" of her mother, who became ill and passed away. She said that all of that reminded her that "life is short".

She said that she's been so busy that she has yet to meet her newest grandson.

Aside from that, she says that she's "looking forward to exploring my 'what’s next'!"
