
Is This Really Michigan’s Signature Dessert?
I've often heard people say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day; however, I like to say that dessert is the best meal of the day.

And when it comes to great desserts, Michigan is home to several of them, including Sanders Bumpy Cake, Boston Coolers (a blended mixture of vanilla ice cream and Vernor's Ginger Ale), Mackinac Island Fudge, and Superman Ice Cream.
Is This Really Michigan's Signature Dessert?
I was excited when I saw that Stacker did the incredibly tough job of researching staple desserts from all 50 states.
But after checking it out seeing what the picked for Michigan I was disappointed and didn't agree.
They said that Michigan's signature dessert that everyone needs to try at least once is tart cherry pie with ice cream.

The pick makes sense; Michigan is the number one producer of tart cherries in America, and Traverse City is nationally known for its National Cherry Festival.
However, there is a much better dessert, in my opinion, that every Michigander should try at least once.

Anyone that's had a Bumpy Cake knows that it should be Michigan's Signature Dessert.
