Maybe you'd name Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos, Elon Musk, Warren Buffett or even Mark Zuckerburg. And you'd be right.

But what about some of the wealthiest people who live in the state of Michigan? Grand Rapids has a few families that probably come to mind (Their last names are DeVos and Van Andel) but not even those people are the most wealthy in the mitten state

So, who exactly holds the title of most wealthy in Michigan?

Forbes Magazine has released their yearly list of most wealthy people in America, and all of the names listed above made the list, but they don't hold the title for most wealthy in Michigan. So who are the most wealthy people in Michigan?

1. Dan Gilbert

If you don't know his name, he's the co-founder of what eventually became Quicken Loans, which is now the largest mortgage lender in the U.S.

He started it up back in 1985 when he was just 22 years old. According to Forbes, Gilbert is the 34th richest person in America, with an estimated worth of $21.3 billion.

2. Ronda Stryker

Coming in second on Michigan's richest list, and at128th nationwide, is Ronda Stryker. She's a director at Stryker Corporation, the medical equipment company that her grandfather, Homer Stryker, founded. Forbes puts Stryker's value at $7.4 billion.

3. Mat Ishiba

This Michigander is third wealthiest in the state, and also made the list at number 156, with a value of $6.7 billion. He's the chairman and CEO of Michigan-based mortgage lender United Wholesale Mortgage, now known as UWM Holdings, which was actually founded by his father, Jeff, back in 1986.

He's also an owner of the Phoenix Suns, so he splits his time following his team around and in the mitten state.

The Ford Waterfront Estate in Gross Ile

The Ford Waterfront Estate is a 10,000-square-foot Japanese-style masterpiece situated on the Detroit River. This historic property was purchased by Henry and Clara Ford and was custom-built by the Ford Motor Company as an entertainment venue for executives.
