This new policy, implemented by the Brazilian government, aims to ensure the financial stability and intent of visit for prospective travelers.

Under the new regulations, Michigan residents planning a trip to Brazil will need to submit their last three bank account statements or six recent pay stubs as part of the visa application process.

Applicants who do not meet the minimum financial threshold of $2,000 will need to obtain a sponsor, typically a friend or family member, who can provide an affidavit of support.

In addition to the bank statements, Michigan travelers will also need to provide a valid passport, a letter of intent outlining the purpose and duration of their trip, proof of lodging arrangements, and a $80.90 visa fee.

The visa, once approved, will be valid for 10 years, allowing for up to 90-day visits per year.
