Watch: How Mackinac Island Residents Get Groceries In The Winter
Most Michiganders take for granted how simple it is to head out to the grocery store near them and pick up a gallon of milk or an entire cart full of groceries

Sure, you might overdraft your bank account because of the prices, but you can pretty much find whatever you need.
Heck things have gotten so much easier that stores offer curbside pickup, or you can use delivery services that bring groceries directly to your front door so you don't even have to put on pants.

The only thing that can sometimes cause an issue is winter weather that makes it dangerous to drive your car on snow or ice.
But for a select few people who live on Mackinac Island getting groceries is already a bit harder because the Mackinac Island doesn't allow any cars.
So that means in the wintertime you can walk or do what a lot of people do and that's hop on a snowmobile and head towards town to get what you need from the grocery store.
I recently found this out after scrolling through Instagram Reels and see a video by Kate who is a co-owner of Mackinac Island Cookie Company.
She, along with her daughter Hazel, take you on a trip from their house to Doud’s Market, which has been open since 1884, to get some groceries to make chicken pot pie.
