This New Van Andel Arena Upgrade Means You Won’t Miss the Action
If you’ve ever debated whether it’s worth leaving your seat for a drink, Van Andel Arena just made that decision a whole lot easier.
The arena has quietly rolled out a new Grab N Go concession option, and it’s the perfect way to grab a drink and go. No standing in a long line while checking your watch, which means no panic about missing a big Grand Rapids Gold play or the song you’ve been waiting all night to hear when Megan Moroney comes to town later this year.
Van Andel Arena announced the new setup on social media on friday, showing off Grab N Go stations which are self-serve kiosks stocked with drinks and snacks.
You pick your items, place them on the pay station, swipe your card, and you’re done. If you’re buying alcohol, you’ll scan your valid Michigan ID at the station, then head right back to your seat.
That last part matters if you're a fan, because anyone who’s ever timed a bathroom break or beer run during a live event knows how quickly things can go sideways. One minute you’re thinking you’ve got time. The next minute the crowd is roaring and you’re still ten people back in line.
This is such an awesome upgrade for Van Andel Arena. It’s faster, less stressful, and honestly just makes sense for a venue that hosts everything from packed basketball games to sold-out concerts.
The goal is pretty simple. Spend less time waiting. Spend more time watching. And if that means you don’t miss the chorus, the buzzer-beater, or whatever wild thing happens next on the floor or stage, that’s a win.
Consider this your permission to actually leave your seat for a drink next time. Van Andel has your back.
