This East Michigan Farm’s Ice Cream Was Named The Best In The State

I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream!

And one thing Michigan has in abundance is great places to find a scoop (or three) of your favorite dairy treat. We all probably have our on preferences on which one is the best, but one Youtube influencer took it upon himself to spend the summer visiting 48 states and trying the best ice cream places in each one.

Cohen Thompson said that while he loved the scoop he found in Michigan, his favorite came from a place in Upstate New York. But, obviously, we'll agree to disagree because his choice for Michigan seems like the best one out of all of the places he visited.

What is the Best Ice Cream Shop in Michigan?

According to the video series, Cohen says that Cook's Farm Dairy is some of the best ice cream you can find in the entire mitten.

While a lot of people may visit this adorable East Michigan farm that sits north of Detroit in Ortonville for the animals and fun, he swears they're worth the drive just for the ice cream they sell.

In his video, he tried four separate flavors that all sounded amazing, but his favorite was their Cow Pie scoop.

According to their menu, this ice cream is 'a rich and indulgent ice cream flavor that combines the smooth and creamy taste of double dark chocolate with the sweet and buttery flavor of caramel and the crunchy texture of cashews.'

As for how it stands amongst the rest of the country? He doesn't give it a number ranking amongst all of the ones he tried, but he does say the ice cream itself was an 8.6/10 which is pretty close to perfect.

So if you find yourself on the east side of the state looking for a sweet treat, you may want to take a trip to Cook's Farm Dairy and say hi to the piggies while you're enjoying something great and purely Michigan.
