This week's weather has been extra difficult compared to the average winter storm that we're used to. While we all know how to deal with snow, ice can cause a type of chaos we don't see frequently in Michigan.

So, when this week's ice storm in Southwest Michigan was forecasted, crews started to stage to help the thousands and thousands of households that lost power due to accumulating ice.

Chef Jenna Arcidiacono of Amore Trattoria Italiana is no stranger to giving back to the community. In fact, during her time, she won the Governor's Award for Service during COVID.

Or maybe you heard about last February when Chef Jenna visited the Choo Choo Grill and handed a server five $100 bills.

As well as giving a restaurant worker in need a car last summer.

So when Chef Jenna sees a chance to give back, she's quick to jump in and help where she can. So when Amore Trattoria Italiana only had four tables during Wednesday night's storm, they made the most of their downtime.

Chef Jenna and her staff fixed a few extra meals and gave them away to anyone who was working Wednesday night to help with the weather, including members of the local media, as well as anyone in need of a meal no matter the reason.

After the above post was made on the Amore Facebook page, they had around 100 people reach out for one of the meals.

So while a lot of us had the luxury of staying in during the storm, it's heartwarming to see Chef Jenna and her staff yet again show that West Michigan is full of love and compassion, especially when it matters the most.
