Check Out The Latest Upgrades At LMCU Ballpark, Home of the Whitecaps

The Whitecaps season doesn't start until April, but there's plenty of action happening now at LMCU Ballpark as the team does some major upgrades.

The West Michigan Whitecaps are upgrading their home, the LMCU Ballpark, with a multiyear renovation plan that aims to enhance the experience for both fans and players.

The project will touch almost every corner of the ballpark, with the aim of making it feel like a brand-new facility.

What Are The Renovation Plans For LMCU Ballpark

According to Ballpark Digest, The project will be divided into phases, with Phase 1 construction work to be completed prior to Opening Day 2024. All phases of the project are expected to be fully completed in roughly five years, based on baseball schedules, construction timelines and securing needed support and required approvals for future phases from Plainfield Township.

The renovation plan includes a new home clubhouse with enhanced player spaces, larger weight rooms, and training facilities.

The third base side visitors’ clubhouse will be completely rebuilt and will become the home team's clubhouse.

A state-of-the-art batting cage area will be added near the Whitecaps' new clubhouse, with a club space located nearby.

The ballpark's field lights have also been upgraded to state-of-the-art LED, which will enhance the gameday experience.

The West Michigan Whitecaps play in the Midwest League and are the Single-A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers.

They were founded in 1994 and have played at Fifth Third Ballpark (Now LMCU Ballpark) since 2007.

The team has won two Midwest League championships, in 2006 and 2015.
