There's a reason that at the end of every episode of The Price is Right former host Bob Barker would ask you to "please spay and neuter your pets". It's been proven to help them live longer, it helps population control, and keeps our shelters from being too full.

But if you're helping a feral animal, or maybe just a little on the broke side of life, getting an animal fixed can be a little pricey. Especially if you have multiple pets who need the surgery. That's where the BISSELL pet foundation hopes to step in and help with two upcoming clinics.

The BISSELL pet foundation announced that they are partnering with West Michigan animal shelters to help spay, neuter, microchip and vaccinate dogs and cats at no cost to pet owners.

From March 13-16 you'll have a chance to get your pet spayed or neutered for free thanks to the BISELL pet foundation. On March 13th and 14th, they'll be seeing cats, while on March 15th and 16th they'll be taking dogs. It will be located at 3900 4 Mile Rd NE, Grand Rapids Charter Township, MI 49525

They also warn that if you plan to use this opportunity, you may want to be prepared to wait because they expect at least a thousand pet owners throughout West Michigan to also take advantage of this event.

Things you need to know before you take your pet in: They cannot have food after midnight the night before their surgery, and they ask that you bring your cats in a carrier / live trap, and your dogs on a leash to ensure everyone has a happy and safe experience.
