A typical Michigan winter provides many opportunities for snowmobilers to enjoy the winter in Northern Michigan. The 2023/2024 winter proved disastrous for snowmobilers and towns that rely on the revenue were shell-shocked this year from the lack of snow.

It wasn't just snowmobile towns that took a hit but communities that thrived on skiers took a hit as well. In the Upper Peninsula and Northern Lower Peninsula, some trails are dedicated to ORVs but many snowmobile trails are closed. One Michigan town has decided to open new trails to become a destination for those who ride ORVs.

Cadillac Opened 100 Miles of New Trails to ORVs

If you own an ATV or a Side-By-Side, Cadillac offers 100 miles of scenic trails to ride your ORV. Cadillac is looking to become the next destination for ORV enthusiasts.  The main staging area to get on the trails is on 13 Road off of M-55 near Cadillac.

There are 4 locations on the trails where you see maps of where you are but if you would like a map, they can be found at many area businesses in Cadillac or Michigan Welcome Centers. The trails are well marked so you know where you are and help you customize your journey. There are plenty of places along the way to refuel, snag a bite to eat, enjoy a scenic overlook, grab a few supplies, or take a break and have a little lunch.
