For the entire latter half of the 20th century, most of the world was in a state of constant fear from one thing: nuclear warfare. The pure destruction that a nuke poses is so extreme that just the thought of a country *cough* Iran *cough* producing one has led to President Donald Trump personally declaring war against the country in a move that has stunned most of the world.

Since nuclear programs are allegedly at the center of this entire conflict, and since Iran is legally allowed to retaliate, people jump to the worst-case scenario of the US being bombed.

Feeding these thoughts is the resurfacing of a map showing which areas in the US are most likely to be targeted for bombing. Not necessarily a nuke, but still places that would be targeted for attack.

The Most Likely Areas Of the US To Be Bombed

The map, produced by CBS News in 2015, shows that the most likely targets are states and cities along the east or west coasts, as they are on the country's edges and tend to be more populous. States like Colorado, Wyoming, Nebraska, Montana, and North Dakota are also likely targets due to the presence of missile silos, as Uniladtech points out.

Where In Michigan Are You Safe?

Thankfully for Michiganders, Michigan is among the least likely states to be bombed, falling into the safest states category. The Detroit region is where the most targets appear, with other targets scattered across lower Michigan, including Lansing and Grand Rapids.

However, northern Michigan and all of the Upper Peninsula are completely safe from nuclear strikes, not just because there aren't any targets, but also because northern Wisconsin is also target-free. This would keep you safe from potential radiation.

But this is all hearsay: the risk of nuclear threats is remarkably low due to MAD. If a country has the balls to do it to one, it's inviting it back, and that would be catastrophic.
