Michigan's Law on Selling Alcoholic Beverages on Christmas

I thought alcohol sales were illegal in Michigan on Christmas Day, but after doing a little research, I discovered what can and cannot be done on the holiday.

Michigan law prohibits the sale of beer and all other alcoholic beverages from midnight on Christmas Eve (December 24th) until noon on Christmas Day (December 25th) for all licensees. So what happens after noon on Christmas?

On Christmas Day at Noon, all of the different alcohol sales licenses kick back in. There are a few exceptions for some on-premise locations like hotels, casinos, and some restaurants may still serve alcohol with meals or have exceptions, but stores and bars can open back up if they want to.

Most places are closed on Christmas Day, but if you need to make a beer run, one store in Michigan will be open and they made a song and video to celebrate the occasion.

One Michigan Store Is Selling Beer On Christmas

Trombley's County Market has been selling beer on Christmas for three generations. Trombley's is located in Emmett, Michigan, which is northeast of Imlay City and Capac.
