Help Name Robot, But Mc (Blank) Face Is Off Limits
Grand Rapids Parks and Rec needs your help naming a robot, but there is one condition, "The (Blank) Mc(Blank)Face" is off-limits.
Public Naming Objects
When asking the public to help name something in the community can be a great thing but it can also be a nightmare.
Remember when the British government allowed the internet to suggest a name for a research ship that wound up getting named Boaty McBoatface?
Slovak lawmakers had to reject naming a bridge Chuck Norris because they allowed the public to suggest and vote on the name. Although, I did have a friend name his truck "Truck Norris" and it's still funny and he doesn't even own the truck anymore.
Austin, Texas, thought it would be cute to have the internet name their city waste management service. The people spoke and wanted to go with Limp Bizkit frontman, Fred Durst. Needless to say, the city nixed the idea.
Michigan Department of Transportation has reached out to the public on several occasions to help in naming the snowplows. Names like Betty Whiteout, The Big LePlowski, Snowpra Winfrey, Han Snow-Lo, and Kid Rock Salt were just a few of the names given to Michigan plows.

Grand Rapids Parks and Rec Ask Public to Name a Robot
What you see in the picture above is a Turf Tank that is used in painting the stripes on athletic fields. Unfortunately, the Boaty McBoatface trend was in full force when this robot was first named Turfy McTankface, and now the Grand Rapids Parks and Rec would like your help giving the machine a new name.
Before I give you the link to enter the name you think the Turf Tank should have, there is one rule to follow, do not use "The (Blank) Mc(Blank)Face" type of name since it has been done to death. That being said, here is the link where you can enter your suggested name.
