Grand Rapids’ Most Acclaimed Burger Spot Getting Massive Makeover
Grand Rapids has a thriving food scene, much to the joy of everyone with a mouth. I, for one, am a shameless burger enjoyer. Yeah, it's typical American of me to be a sucker for a good burger and some bangin fries, but I can't help it. Since moving to Downtown GR, I have made it my mission to try every dang burger in town, so my friend recommended Black Napkin on Fulton St.

After showing up and waiting in a long line, I finally got my burger and heard a chorus of angels as I bit into the burger. They have a hell of a burger, and it's not just my opinion: last year, it was named the best burger in Michigan, and this year it was named Best Burger by in Revue's Best of the West 2026. The place really only had one notable downside.

Black Napkin Expanding, Closing For Construction
Black Napkin is small, with only enough room for about four tables and a handful of guests to be inside at a time, leading to long lines outside.

However, that will soon be a problem of the past: Black Napkin has announced that it will be expanding its space, nearly doubling in size.
Black Napkin Under Construction
Earlier today, Black Napkin announced on Instagram that it would be expanding into the building next door, knocking down a few walls that will "add a bathroom and more front of house space."
As a result, it will be closed from August 1st to the 19th, so get your fixings now before it's too late.
