River Bank Run Makes Light Of Medal Ribbon Typo, Offers Corrections
Have you ever been the one in your group chat to make a typo and then get absolutely roasted by everyone? It's a small (but noticeable) mistake, but at least it stayed among your friends, right?

Well, imagine now that you're the sponsor of the biggest run in the City of Grand Rapids, and suddenly you find out that the one thing every single runner is working towards, the finisher medal ribbon, has a glaring issue: there's a massive typo.
Amway River Bank Run FINSHER Medal Ribbon
With the River Bank Run just over 3 days away, people have begun picking up their bibs and ribbons before the event, and many eagle-eyed runners noticed that on their ribbon, the word finisher, or rather FINSHER, is missing an "i". But just like the many runners participating on Saturday, the River Bank Run is taking it in stride with a humorous post on Facebook.
"Somewhere between mile one and the finish line, the 'i' didn't quite make it. While the ribbon missed a letter, your accomplishment did not, and we're genuinely sorry for the oversight."
Runners who would like a corrected ribbon can request one for free here by May 15th. Michele DeSelms, who has run the River Bank run 23 times, has no plans to correct her ribbon, saying she loves that she's going to be a FINSHER this year and will proudly hang this medal with her others.
The Amway River Bank Run will take place on May 9th, starting at 7:00 a.m. for the 5K run. Runners can register until Friday, May 8th, at 8:00 p.m.
