What Happens If It Rains At Acrisure Amphitheater
So far this summer, the Acrisure Amphitheater's debut season has been rather picture-esque. Many of the shows have been sunny, favorable weather that couldn't have gone better for showing off what the new theater is capable of.

However, it was inevitable that, with an outdoor venue, the weather wouldn't always go its way. So what are the rules if rain or more severe weather occurs during a show in Downtown Grand Rapids?

Acrisure Amphitheater Severe Weather Policy
According to the Acrisure Amphitheater's website, all shows are rain or shine, meaning the show will go on whether it's raining or the sun is shining. But where things get a bit more specific is when the weather gets more extreme.
- Shows are delayed or postponed when the heat exceeds 125°F.
- Wind over 35mph
- Shows immediately pause for 30 minutes for any lightning strikes
- Thunder doesn't mean a show will not happen, but if there is hail or wind exceeding 58mph, shows pause until conditions improve.
- Tornado Warnings within 5 miles of the venue will result in an immediate stop, and guests will be evacuated to the shelter.
It's also important to know that rain or shine, umbrellas are not allowed in the venue, so if you're trying to stay dry, ponchos are highly encouraged.
For show cancellations, ticket refunds are available if the show is canceled before it starts. If the show is postponed, your ticket will typically be valid for the rescheduled date. If the show is stopped/delayed/canceled mid-show, you do not get a refund. That is the risk you run with an outdoor venue.
This is general, but always check with the venue or ticket service for specifics.

At the end of the day, know that the amphitheater doesn't want to cancel or postpone shows any more than you want them to. However, safety always comes first.
