An amazing number of people saw "The Hunger Games" over the weekend.  In fact, it is now the 3rd highest opening weekend of ANY movie, taking in over $200 million dollars worldwide.

If you saw the crowds at any Celebration Cinema waiting to see the movie, that figure doesn't come as a big surprise.

What I find interesting, though, is that the actors were relatively underpaid for the film.  Don't be too worried about how they'll pay bills, though...

The woman who played Katniss only received $500,000 to start, but she'll have what are called escalator bonuses (they kick in after a movie hits a certain financial performance), that will give her an extra $1 million dollars.
