think the pay scale is out of balance. Three out of ten people taking part in a new Rasmussen Reports believe teachers should be the highest paid professionals, while fewer than five-percent think celebrities and professional athletes deserve the most money. However, most teachers typically bring home modest five-figure salaries, while the top actors, musicians, and sports stars sign multi-million-dollar deals for their services. Fourteen-percent think members of the military should draw the highest pay, but just nine-percent think the top wage earner should be the U.S. President -- the Commander in Chief of the armed services -- who makes 400-thousand-dollars a year. Thirteen-percent feel doctors are worthy of the biggest paychecks, and ten-percent think business leaders should be the nation's top earners. Five-percent believe police officers are deserving of hefty compensation for their work.
