Spring Break getaways can be expensive. Lot's of fun for sure, but not affordable for everyone. So, what do the kids do? Hang out? The Grand Rapids Public Museum would make a great "hang out!"
Everyone can enjoy intriguing exhibits, planetarium shows and hands-on activities! From March 29 through April 7, come face to face with dinosaurs in Expedition: Dinosaur, rekindle and create memories in the TOYS! exhibit, see spectacular planetarium shows and create with special spring break only activities!
This year, the GRPM invites families to enjoy special Spring Break activities for even longer, with the Museum will be open late until 7 p.m. April 1 through April 6.
Spring Break activities will be dinosaur and toys inspired make and take crafts including making your own dinosaur, sock monkey headbands, dinosaur fossils and more. Join the GRPM on Saturday, March 30 and Saturday, April 6 for a special dinosaur science in the Saturday Curiosity Labs. Play over-sized games including Chess and Connect Four.
The Roger B. Chaffee Planetarium will be adding additional shows and show times special for Spring Break. See stunning shows daily on the hour from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. April 1 through 6, including From Earth to the Universe and Dark Side: The Light Show. Spring Break activities and the TOYS! exhibit are included with general admission to the Museum. Expedition: Dinosaur and planetarium shows are available for an additional charge, with discounts for Museum members. Visitors can purchase tickets at grpm.org before their visit to skip the lines. Kent County residents receive reduced admission to the GRPM thanks to the passing of the November 2016 millage, including free general admission for Kent County children 17 and under! Kent County adults and seniors receive reduced pricing.
Purchase a membership for spring break and skip the line with a members-only check in! Memberships are only $65 for a family per year and include 2 adults and all children 17 and under. Member receive free general admission, free planetarium shows, free carousel rides, discounted admission to special exhibits and more!
