Big Loss in Holland as Family Central Christian Bookstore is Closing
Today locally owned independent bookstores are having a struggle. Brick and mortar stores, as they are called, are finding it difficult to attract customers. So many people are either shopping online or going to the big bookstores like Barnes and Noble for example.
Yes, it is tough to compete, and that book shopping climate has claimed another victim.

Family Central bookstore in Holland announced they are calling it a day. They posted on Facebook:
"Since opening our doors on September 2, 2021, it has been an honor and a privilege to serve the wonderful community of Holland. Your warm support and shared desire to strengthen families in Christ have made this location a true blessing.
Beginning today, we are beginning our liquidation sale so that you can stock up on resources to bless your family at unbelievable prices."
Family Central says, "They will be selling all books, Bibles, gifts, children’s resources, and more at significant discounts."
They will also be selling all of their furnishings: bookcases, furniture, tables and all fixtures as they wrap up the business on Thursday, April 2.
Family Central is located in downtown Holland at 215 Central Avenue.
They also announced that while the store is closing, their mission still remains alive.
"They will keep FocusOnTheFamily.com, their Help Line (1-800-A-FAMILY), podcasts, and other ministry outreaches going."
Over the years so many people have loved the bookstore, praising the staff, the ability to actually look at books instead of on a computer screen, and bemoaning the fact that their regular story time for kids would be gone as well.
Holland will miss you Family Central.
