A system bringing steady rain to the area Wednesday through Thursday may also bring some minor flooding.

The National Weather Service says the storm system will drop 1-2 inches of rain between early Wednesday and late Thursday. When you combine that with the recent heavy snow melt, you will see most rivers and streams rise quite quickly to possible flood levels through the weekend.

Most of the localized flooding will occur along rivers north of Kent County like the Muskegon, Pere Marquette and the White in Newaygo County. The snowpack there hasn't melted down yet, causing a little concern.

The Grand River will rise as well, and could spill over in some of the usual low lying plains. No warnings have yet been posted.
