Here is another sad accident story that happened here in Grand Rapids, and the Grand Rapids Police Department (GRPD) is looking for help in identifying a vehicle in a hit-and-run that sadly left a motorcyclist seriously injured.

The seemingly senseless accident happened almost two weeks ago. GRPD posted a photo to Facebook, asking for help identifying the van and would love to receive potential information about the suspect.

Fox17 reported that the crash happened on Friday, Sept. 25, around 7 p.m. The picture, shown above, in the post shows a white utility van. That van pulled in front of a motorcyclist at the intersection of Clyde Park St and Grandville Ave SW. The suspect driving the white van then turned left in front of the motorcycle, ran the motorcyclist over after the crash, and then fled the scene through an alley. Sounds like a real upstanding citizen, doesn't it. As expected, the motorcyclist was seriously injured in the accident.

After nearly two weeks, sadly no new information has turned up, so the Police Department is asking for anyone with information regarding this incident to please contact Traffic Unit investigators Justin Ewald at (616)456-4282 or Frank Barthel at (616)456-3938.

In today's climate, the Grand Rapids Police Department realizes that people with information may not want to come forward to help. So, GRPD says that they would be more than grateful if tips would come from Facebook Messenger. And as always, anonymous tips can also be provided through Silent Observer at (616)774.2345
