Summer has just begun and we've already had a taste of 90 degree temperatures.  Fortuneatly, staying cool in Grand Rapids just got a little easier.  The City of Grand Rapids has opened its splashpads!

It's good to have options to keep the kids cool this summer.  Kiddie pools and sprinklers are fun, but splash pads are hard to beat.  Grand Rapids has opened their splash pads for summer.

WZZM has the details:

Visitors can now enjoy the splash pads at Heartside Park, Joe Taylor Park, Mary Waters Park, Alger Middle School and Gerald R. Ford Middle School. Admission to the playgrounds is free for residents. They are open from 8 a.m. through 8 p.m.

The city will open its swimming pools on July 2.

A fun way to spend summer!
