Grand Rapids Public Schools To Lay Off 90+ Employees

On Monday, the Grand Rapids Public Schools Board unanimously approved laying off more than 90 of its employees.

According to a GRPS spokesperson, these layoffs will include nearly 40 teachers. The rest will be support staff members.

School officials are confident that a large number of these employees will be called back to work at some point.

At this point, no other details about these layoffs, including who (and which schools) will be affected, are currently available.
