Grand Rapids Public Schools Announces Virtual Graduation Dates
Since the start of the coronavirus pandemic, one of the big topics discussed has been about the seniors in the class of 2020 not being able to do the graduation the way everyone else has in history. This will be the first year that most classes will either have to do virtual graduation or forgo the ceremony altogether.
Grand Rapids Public Schools acknowledged how important a milestone high school graduation is and they announced the school district will be holding virtual graduations June 3, 4, and 5 and will stream through the Grand Rapids Public school YouTube channel. They will also broadcast the ceremony on cable channel 27-902 and on the district and individual high schools’ Facebook pages.
“High school graduation is an important milestone in our students’ lives. Although nothing will ever compare to in-person graduation ceremonies, virtual ceremonies will give us the opportunity to highlight your accomplishments until we can celebrate in-person with all of our families and friends in attendance,” said Interim Superintendent Ronald Gorman.
