Grand Rapids Public Museum's Roger B. Chaffee Planetarium is set to undergo a $1.2 million upgrade.

The project will close the planetarium for about 5 months.

The Roger B. Chaffee Planetarium is set to close on September 14 at 5:00pm.  It is scheduled to re-open in February 2014.

Upgrades to the planetarium include new seating, design, and display.  After the upgrade the planetarium with be able to display high definition shows.
