The Stephen Colbert Americone Dream Fund of Coastal Community Foundation has given $10,000 to a Grand Rapids-based charity to help people struggling with grief.

Stephen Colbert's foundation has given $10,000 to Healing Improv.

Healing Improv helps people struggling with grief through comedy improv grief workshops. The workshops use laughter, games, and communication to help those suffering with grief.

The money for Stephen Colbert's foundation comes from the sale of Ben & Jerry's Americone Dream Ice Cream, which was introduced in 2007. Americone Dream Ice Cream is a vanilla ice cream with fudge covered waffle cone pieces and a swirl of caramel.

Charities helped by the sale of the ice cream include those which support food and medical assistance for disadvantaged children, those which helping veterans and their families, and environmental causes.
