I know that it's only July, but help is needed right now to rebuild Santa's sleigh.

The Grand Rapids Jaycees are attempting to raise $25,000 as part of a "Community Grant Challenge" to rebuild the sleigh that Santa rides into Grand Rapids as the finale of the Art Van Santa Parade every year.( This year's parade will be on November 22nd.)

This new sleigh is likely to take two months to build, and the new design will incorporate a scene of Grand Rapids, with Santa's reindeer flying over the Blue Bridge on the Grand River.

"We want the community to really embrace and own a piece of the parade," said Melissa Greko, Grand Rapids Jaycees President in a press release. "Santa and his float are the grand finale and should be amazing! The Parade Company has created a float that really represents Grand Rapids and brings the awe and wonder of Santa before our very eyes."

The funding for the new sleigh has to be secured by mid-August. The Jaycees have set up a GoFundMe site and sponsorship package options are available for businesses that want to help in rebuilding the sleigh.
